Most of the overhaul took place during the hotel’s month-long closure, with the remainder during active operations. All changes were implemented without service interruptions and without impact on guests.

Challenge
Outdated IT infrastructure no longer supported modern hotel operations
At the start of the project, the hotel was running on an IT infrastructure that had evolved incrementally and no longer kept pace with the demands of modern hospitality. Core systems relied on outdated server and network equipment without active warranty support, which posed an increasing risk to uninterrupted operation.
The existing network did not provide the bandwidth and capacity required by modern wireless access standards, while individual subsystems such as video surveillance and access control did not deliver comprehensive coverage and the functionality guests expect in a five-star environment.
The project challenge was therefore multi-layered: replace the obsolete infrastructure in a single step, establish a unified and centrally managed IT environment, and at the same time ensure uninterrupted hotel operations with no impact on guests.
Our solutions
Stable and scalable server core
We completely modernized the server environment and designed it on a modern hyperconverged architecture that unifies compute, storage, and backup into a single system. This approach reduces infrastructure complexity, simplifies management, and at the same time ensures high availability with built-in redundancy.
The architecture is complemented by additional server resources for specific workloads and a long-term archiving system aligned with established backup practices. This delivered predictable operations, shorter recovery times, and a stable foundation for further development of the IT environment.
The network as the foundation of digital services
We built the network infrastructure as a centrally managed system that enables high bandwidth, reliable connectivity, and clear traffic segmentation. Separate networks for guests, employees, and individual systems ensure security and stable operation of all services.
Centralized management provides full control over the network, faster rollout of changes, and more efficient configuration management. This design forms the foundation for all digital services in the hotel.
Connected IT environment of a five-star hotel
The architecture of the revamped IT environment of the five-star hotel operates as a single, centrally managed ecosystem. The hyperconverged server core connects all key subsystems – from the wireless network and video surveillance to access control and the multimedia experience – into a cohesive whole that ensures seamless hotel operations and a modern, reliable, and secure digital guest experience.

Wi-Fi 6 as the standard of the guest experience
We designed the wireless network on the Wi-Fi 6 standard, which provides high speeds, greater capacity, and stable performance even at high user density. Coverage is ensured in all rooms and common areas.
This provides guests with reliable, fast connectivity throughout the hotel, without interruptions or drops in speed, while a separate guest network ensures secure use without access to internal systems.
Comprehensive security environment
The security systems are designed as a single facility-monitoring platform that combines video surveillance and access control in a centrally managed environment. This approach enables better visibility of events and more efficient security management.
The video surveillance system provides comprehensive coverage of interior and exterior areas with high resolution and centralized management, enabling rapid response and reliable real-time monitoring.
Digitalizing access and the stay
We designed the access control system as an integrated solution that connects rooms, common areas, and additional hotel services. The digital key enables guests to access their room and other services easily without using physical cards.
This solution simplifies access management, enhances the user experience, and enables central control over all access points in real time.
A connected multimedia experience
The multimedia systems in rooms and common areas are designed as an extension of the guest’s digital experience. They allow guests to use their own content easily on hotel devices while ensuring secure and automated access management.
Centralized audio management enables content to be tailored to individual spaces and coordinated audio experiences across the entire hotel.

The overhaul provided the hotel with a reliable and transparent IT environment that enables stable operations and effective management of key systems.
